Refugee Social Program

Chikchak is made across three homes, Berlin, Dubai, and Lebanon. In Lebanon, we work with women from the refugee camps, teaching and growing a crochet program within the community. The repetitive motion of crochet, tactile movement with motoric skills easing the mind and regulating the body while creating space for social connection. For many women, it’s also a rare way to earn income given the barriers they face within the system. Our goal is to grow this program until it covers Chikchak’s full production, with more women learning the skill along the way leaving them with self sufficient tool for their living hood
